Ken Okanee
President & CEO
Ken Okanee is the President & CEO of Nikaniw Hydrovac & Vac Services Ltd. and Yellow Sky & Associates Ltd. Ken is a proud member of Thunderchild First Nation. He is a seasoned business leader with over 10 years of executive experience. Previously, Ken served as CEO of Thunder Developments, overseeing strategic economic growth initiatives for the Nation.
Known for his exceptional communication and leadership skills, he is committed to transparency, accountability, and fostering collaborative relationships with community stakeholders. He holds a Master of Education from the University of Saskatchewan, a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alberta.

Tim Russell
COO
Tim Russell is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Nikaniw Hydrovac & Vac Services Ltd., bringing over a decade of hands-on experience in hydrovac operations, heavy equipment, and business management. With a background in leadership, logistics, and field operations, Tim ensures that every project is executed with precision, safety, and efficiency.
As a former owner and operator of MasterVaxx Ltd., Tim managed multiple hydrovac units, business operations, and client relations, providing him with extensive expertise in excavation services and industry best practices. Tim is known for his strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and commitment to safety and operational excellence. His experience in rural and urban excavation projects throughout Saskatchewan has positioned him as a key leader in delivering high-quality, non-destructive excavation solutions.

John Hergott
Hydrovac Operator
John Hergott is a Hydrovac Operator at Nikaniw Hydrovac & Vac Services Ltd., bringing over three years of experience as a hydrovac swamper and operator. A proud member of Fishing Lake First Nation, John is skilled in heavy equipment operation, site maintenance, and excavation safety.
With experience in industrial labor, roofing, and painting, John has developed a strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in high-pressure environments. His previous roles at Great Plains Contracting (K+S Bethune Legacy Mine) and Staesson-Klien Applicators provided him with valuable expertise in team-based and independent work, site safety, and equipment handling.
John is committed to safe, efficient excavation practices and contributes to Nikaniw Hydrovac’s mission of delivering top-quality hydrovac services while empowering Indigenous workforce development.
